Maple heritage, history, lore, and education await you at stop #1 on the Maple Taste and Tour. The Pennsylvania Maple Museum and the Somerset Historical Center offer two heritage and history locations in one stop! Featuring the Pennsylvania WoodMobile on Sunday, March 9th!

When: March 1-2, 8-9 10:00am - 4:00pm each day
Where: The Pennsylvania Maple Museum and the Somerset Historial Center
How Much: Admission is FREE. The Museum Shop and Maple Shop will be open for purchases. Donations welcome.

There will be demonstrations of crafts that supported the maple industry such as coopering and scrub brush making, an historical overview of the industry in Somerset County and maple equipment. Visitors can also sample freshly stirred maple sugar, that "toothsome" taffy treat known locally as spotza, maple popped kettle corn, burnt sugar cake, and other maple treats.

As you plan your visits please review the brochure and make sure that the camps you plan to visit are open. Some sites are only open on Saturdays or on one weekend.

Admission to the Maple Taste and Tour is FREE and is held in cooperation with the Somerset County Maple Producers Association.

With over 20 maple sugar sites on tour, there is plenty to fill a weekend (or two). Out of town guests can find a variety of hotels and amenities in Somerset. The Somerset Historical Center is located 4 miles north of Somerset on Route 985, right off of Exit #110 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. We are 9 miles from stop #13 Four Seasons Maple, 4.5 miles from stop #18 Baer Bros. Maple Camp, and 4.5 miles from stop #19 Walnutdale Maple Farms.
