Safe, family-friendly trick-or-treating outdoors at the Somerset Historical Center

Throw on your Halloween costume and come out for a stroll through the historical Somerset Historical Center grounds. Trick-or-treat along lantern lit paths, visit historic structures and talk to costumed interpreters, and take a tractor-drawn wagon ride through the woods at our Annual Historical Halloween. Follow your complimentary passport to get your treat at each station and be on the lookout for the infamous Robber Lewis. "Catch" him for a special treat. At the end of the trail, you can warm-up under the pavilion with hot chocolate and maple kettle corn and a taste of fresh-pressed apple cider from our working cider press.

Here are the details!
Date: October 21
Time: 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Place: The Somerset Historical Center *4 miles north of Somerset on the Somerset Pike / Route 985
Admission: $3.00 per child, adult chaperones are FREE.
Dress Code: Costumes encouraged, but not required!
Extras!
• Bring an apple to add to the cider press for "friendship cider!" A good mix of a variety of apples makes the best tasting apple cider!
• Bring a flashlight to help navigate the paths! We have some lights and lanterns, but it's getting dark earlier and earlier!

Accessibility: The Somerset Historical Center is handicapped-accessible, however the tractor-drawn wagon ride is not handicapped accessible at this time. Individuals with disabilities or those in need of special assistance are asked to call (814)445-6077 or the Pennsylvania TDD relay service at (800) 654-5984 in advance of their visit.

Food Information: Candy distributed will be individually wrapped from the factory, but some may contain peanuts or other allergens. The apple cider will be fresh-pressed and unpasteurized. Maple kettle corn contains popcorn, maple syrup, cane sugar, and salt and is popped in vegetable oil.
